Groom's Cake
Having its roots in Southern tradition, the groom's cake has been around for quite some time and is making a fashionable comeback on the wedding scene. The cake is meant to be a reflection of the groom's interests, whether it be one of his hobbies, favorite sport, alma mater, profession, etc..

It's a personal choice when to serve the cake - either at the rehearsal dinner, as an alternate dessert with the wedding cake, or as a late night dessert for the wedding party. Obviously being named "Groom's Cake" it should be a flavor and theme that the groom enjoys.

Beach Wedding

Don't rule out your beach wedding ideas because you don't live near an ocean. The definition of a "beach" is - "the shore of a body of water." Yes, that includes lakes and rivers. For that matter, you could have a "beach" right by a swimming pool. There are no rules. Be creative! It's your beach wedding ... it can be anything you want it to be — wherever you want it to be! Most of all ... have fun.

Orange

It's not just for fall celebrations -- orange is the hottest hue for weddings in every season and in every shade (from creamy peach to burnt sienna). Pair it with espresso for a modern, formal tone; or with raspberry and kiwi for the perfect laid-back beach wedding palette. There's no denying its versatility: chic orange cakes, bouquets, and table decor.

Cupcake Towers
The cupcake wedding cake is usually in lieu of a regular wedding cake, however sometimes a traditional cake is used for photos and the cupcakes are used for serving. However in a true cupcake wedding cake there's usually at least one cake tier (or separate cake) that is used for the bride & groom to slice through. Also, a cupcake wedding cake is usually a cheaper option than a traditional cake, and since there are so many little cakes, you can actually have a lot of different flavors!
Yellow

Yellow was all over the runways this past spring, which is great news for brides. Yellow is the color of sunshine and brings feelings of warmth and happiness to those who view it or wear it. When used alone, yellow makes an impact, when used as an accent; it compliments many other colors very nicely. Pale yellows are great for spring weddings, lemon yellows give a citrus punch to summer weddings and deep mustards are beautiful for fall and winter weddings.

Topiaries
Add Drama and height to your reception with topiaries on some or all of the tables. The beautiful flowers are well above the eyeline of your guests and give a twist on traditional decor.

Sweethearts Table
I hate head tables because they separate the bridal party from their respective spouses or dates(and kids in some cases). The Sweethearts Table is increasing in popularity. The two of you, just the bride and groom, sit at your own table-for-two. You are easily visible to your guests. you can be toasted and can offer toasts, and everyone else gets to sit with their sweethearts, too. You can get up from your table and visit with your guests, or guests can come to your table without interrupting the rest of the wedding party. Your table can be situated near tables for each family and your wedding party. This way you can be alone with your new spouse, but still be in the center of the action.

Going Green
Many couples are realizing that if we don't take care of our planet, who will? A wedding is full of opportunities to make ethical informed decisions as well as many opportunities for waste. If you're eco-conscious , consider using organic flowers in your bouquet, recycled paper in your invitations, local and organic foods at your reception, and even donate leftover food rather than throwing it out. A great idea for your wedding favor is to give each guest a tree seedling to be planted in your honor.
